Vaskurel in Nigerian pharmacies: why we do not supply the chains

Why we do not supply pharmacies with Vaskurel
A pharmacy chain buys through a distributor, and each of them adds a margin. On a ₦59,000 pack that is a shelf price well above what we charge, with nobody on the other end of a phone when you have a question about the dose. We would rather keep the price and the phone call.
The second reason is storage. Capsules with plant extracts do not like heat, and a pack that has spent a month in a hot store room or on a shelf under the lights is not the pack that left our warehouse. Our packs move from the warehouse to the courier to your door in days, and we know the batch number of every one of them.
The third reason is counterfeits. Once a product sits on open shelves, copies follow it, and the buyer cannot tell which shelf got the copy. With one channel there is one answer: if the pack did not come from our courier after our operator's call, it is not ours.

What you may find under the Vaskurel name outside this site
Independent pharmacies in Lagos and Onitsha have shown buyers a Vaskurel box. In every case the buyer could not find a batch number, the bottle opened without a click, and the capsules were a single colour. A pharmacist who offers a 'similar product for blood pressure' is offering a different formula. Vaskurel is five actives at working doses: hawthorn 400 mg, aged garlic 600 mg, hibiscus 200 mg, olive leaf 200 mg and CoQ10 100 mg a day. A capsule with twelve ingredients at 20 mg each is not similar.
