Vaskurel ingredients: what each capsule contains and why
Each Vaskurel capsule holds 750 mg of five actives and nothing else besides the plant shell. Two capsules a day give 1,500 mg: hawthorn, aged garlic, hibiscus, olive leaf and coenzyme Q10, each at the amount the research on blood pressure was done with.

Vaskurel composition per capsule and per day
The table is what is printed on the box. A working dose is the amount the studies on blood pressure used; a label that lists an ingredient at a tenth of that amount is decoration. We would rather have five actives at full strength than twelve at trace level.
Hawthorn extract
200 mg per capsuleThe leaf-and-flower extract of Crataegus. Improves the force of each contraction so the heart pushes blood with fewer, calmer beats.
Aged garlic extract

Capsule shell: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (plant-based). No gelatin, no magnesium stearate, no titanium dioxide, no sugar, no lactose.
Garlic and olive leaf: how they relax the vessel wall
Blood pressure starts at the wall of the artery. When the smooth muscle in the wall is tense, the channel is narrow and the heart has to push harder to move the same blood. Aged garlic extract raises the production of nitric oxide in the lining of the vessel; nitric oxide is the signal that tells the wall to loosen. 600 mg a day is the amount used in the trials that measured a fall in the systolic reading over 8 to 12 weeks.
Oleuropein from olive leaf works on the same wall from a different side: it eases the flow of calcium into the muscle cells, so they contract less. Together the two actives do what one of them alone does only partly, which is why both are in the capsule and neither is at a token dose.
Hibiscus: how it removes water and salt
Every Ghanaian knows hibiscus as sobolo. The dried calyx is a mild diuretic and carries anthocyanins that slow the enzyme which makes the body hold sodium. In the capsule it is a 10:1 extract standardised to 8% anthocyanins, so 200 mg a day does what several bottles of strong sobolo would, without the sugar and the ginger heat.
The effect you notice is practical: you pass water a little more in the first days, the ankles stop swelling by evening, and the volume the heart has to push drops. This is the front that moves the reading fastest, usually within the first week.
Hawthorn and coenzyme Q10: how they steady the heart
Hawthorn is the oldest heart plant in European pharmacopoeias and the reason we standardise the extract to vitexin. It improves the force of each beat and lengthens the pause between beats, so the heart moves the same blood with less pounding. 400 mg a day is a full dose, not the 50 mg you see on multivitamin labels.
Coenzyme Q10 is not a plant but a molecule the body makes less of after 40. Heart muscle burns more energy than any other tissue and is the first to feel the shortfall. 100 mg a day restores the level, which shows up as fewer palpitations and more even energy through the day.
What we left out of Vaskurel, and why
A formula is defined by what is not in it as much as by what is. These four are on many labels and would look good on ours, and each one fails the same test: it cannot do its job at a dose that fits in a capsule.
Beetroot powder
Beetroot works through dietary nitrate, and the useful amount is 5 to 8 grams of powder a day. 150 mg in a capsule is a colour, not an active.
Magnesium
A working dose is 300 mg of elemental magnesium, which is over a gram of magnesium citrate. It would need its own bottle.
Potassium
Blood pressure responds to 2 to 3 grams a day from food. A capsule cannot carry that; a bowl of beans or two bananas can.
Vitamin mixes
B6, B12, C and E at 100% of the daily value make the label longer and the capsule no better at its job.
How to take Vaskurel: dose, timing, water
Two capsules a day, twelve hours apart, each with food and a full glass of water. Food slows the passage through the stomach and the extracts are absorbed evenly instead of in one peak.
1 capsule with breakfast
Whatever you eat in the morning is enough: tea and bread counts, so does koko. If your doctor's tablet is a morning tablet, both go with the same meal.
1 capsule with supper
Around 7 or 8 pm. Not at bedtime on an empty stomach, and not two capsules at once if you forgot the morning one.

How the capsules are made and checked
Vaskurel is made in one facility working to GMP standards, and every batch is released only after two checks: identity and strength of each extract, and purity for heavy metals and microbiology. That is why the label names a dose and not a range.
The batch number and the packing date are printed on the box, not stuck on a label. If a pack arrives with a broken cap ring, the operator who confirmed your order replaces it and we pull the batch record.

Who takes Vaskurel, and who does not
Vaskurel is for adults from 18 with high or unstable blood pressure, whether or not they already take a prescribed tablet. Buyers on prescribed tablets keep taking them; their readings become steadier and the doctor reviews the dose with real numbers. Vaskurel goes with the same breakfast and supper, no gap needed.
We do not ship Vaskurel for pregnant or breastfeeding women, and anyone with an allergy to garlic, hawthorn, hibiscus, olive or ubiquinone should not take it. The first days on hibiscus bring a few more trips to the washroom; that is the water leaving, and it settles by day three. There is no garlic smell: the aged extract is odourless.
